Do you love to engage with customers in terms of identifying solutions for both new and existing customer needs, whilst maximising Vita’s innovation footprint within our specialist market industries.  Ensure that products and application solutions meet or exceed customer expectations

 To develop and manage stakeholder relationships throughout the full supply chain

 To support and drive potential market opportunities identified, in conjunction with the commercial teams

To support the commercial teams with customer visits from a technical aspect

To create and lead innovation workshops with customers & third parties in close co-operation with commercial teams

To manage, develop and fully utilities the site innovation centre (Accrington, UK & partly the other two sites)) 

To manage and prioritise the innovation project pipeline align with Innovation director

To prepare monthly progress reports in line with agreed Key Performance Indicator’s

To support the operational excellence team on relevant projects

To build external relationships with research bodies and academic institutions

To train the commercial team in the technical aspects of all our products and related applications


You recognize yourself in the following

Education and experience – Minimum level of education and experience required

 Higher education degree in Material Science, polymer science or related subject (desirable)

 Has managed new product introductions/significant product developments

 Has managed a team of Research & Development professionals

 Has built technology plans that have delivered commercial results

 Can demonstrate a strong commercial bias in the approach to technology

 Can demonstrate a consultative / influencing based approach

 Has operated in a similar decentralised business before with demonstrable personal credibility

 Can demonstrate a strong team-based approach to management, having recruited and developed high performing individuals, and developed high-performing teams

 Strategic capability: Makes the connections to see the underlying trends – “the big picture”.

 Problem analysis: quickly discerns key facts and differentiates between relevant and irrelevant information. 

 Judgement: demonstrates a sound process for weighing options and making decisions. Prepared to challenge the status quo and take calculated risks.
